ERIE, Pennsylvania – January 21, 2014 – Kane Detention is scheduled to exhibit at the American Correctional Association’s (ACA) 2014 Winter Conference, February 2nd through the 4th in Tampa, Florida. Kane Innovations’ Vice President of Sales, Glenn Smith, and Corporate Sales Manager, Tom Hemdal, will be on hand during the show to present a variety of product samples, answer questions, and assist in project planning.

Kane Detention’s featured product at this year’s show will be the MAX-Force 15 Vantage Wall Barrier, which features 9-gauge, MAX-Force Mesh and 3/8″ diameter woven steel rod. The MAX-Force 15 recently passed the 15-minute-long, SD-STD-01.01 Forced Entry and Ballistic Resistance of Structural Systems (Revision G) test and is now approved for use on One World Trade Center in New York City.

During the official Department of State (DoS) standard laboratory testing on October 21, 2013, 6 members of a test crew, armed with a 12-lb sledgehammer, a wood-splitting maul, a wood ax and 4’ bolt cutters, worked aggressively to break through the MAX-Force 15 barrier. After the first 15 minutes, test personnel were unable to form a large enough opening to pass either a 12″ x 12″ cube or a 12″ diameter cylinder through the mesh and woven rod. Even after an additional 15 minutes of continuous attack, the barrier was still unable to fail the test.

Kane Detention is one of the first woven mesh barrier manufacturers to have passed this DoS-mandated, 15-minute, forced entry resistance test.

Kane Detention management and staff invite all criminal justice and corrections professionals to stop by their booth (#131) at the ACA Winter Conference, the largest gathering of corrections professionals, nationwide. During the show, attendees will have the opportunity to meet customers face-to-face, build business connections, learn about new products and gather information for use on future project ventures.

Gilbert says, “I’m very excited to be on board and look forward to many years of success as part of the Kane Innovations family.”
