ERIE, Pennsylvania - May 5, 2016 -  Architectural products manufacturer, Kane Innovations, proudly participated in the March of Dimes' March for Babies walk, hosted at Penn State Behrend on Sunday, May 1.  "Team Kane" raised $884 to help fund education and community programs that assist women in carrying full-term pregnancies and aid in ensuring that all babies are born healthy. The programs also provide comfort and information to families in the event of a premature birth.

The four-mile walk kicked off at 1pm at Penn State Behrend's Reed parking lot.   Despite the cold and rainy weather, over 2,000 people participated in Saturday's walk.  Event organizers for the Northwest PA Division of March of Dimes said that the total money raised this year exceeded $300,000.

One in 10 babies are born prematurely every year in the United States, according to the March of Dimes Foundation.  Currently, the March of Dimes is investing more than $89 million nationally, and nearly $3 million in research and programs in Pennsylvania, to help lower the statistic.
