BUTLER COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE (BC3) DECIDED IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE.
The college hadn’t seen a library renovation since its opening in 1973. Now, over 40 years later, BC3 boasts an impressive, modernized study area with 25,000 square feet of state-of-the art learning space, accented with products by Kane Innovations’ Sterling Dula brand.
Along with an updated entrance, windows, cafe, outdoor seating, study rooms and new computers and tablets, students at the new Heaton Family Learning Commons will now be surrounded by Sterling Dula’s beautiful, point-mounted, decorative smoke baffle and streamlined, structural glass railing – all installed within the library’s atrium.
Sterling Dula was selected as the manufacturer and installer of choice by Perry Construction Group, based out of Erie, PA. The team at Sterling worked with Perry Construction to identify a glass type that not only worked well with the overall design, but reduced the job cost drastically. The strong and stunning – yet surprisingly affordable – results will be enjoyed by BC3 students for decades to come.
The name of the project – Heaton Family Learning Commons – is a nod to local Butler County resident, Mr. Robert R. Heaton, who generously donated a $1 million gift to the school, its largest in college history.
BC3’s new library will be unveiled in time for the Fall 2016 school year.
