Princeton University – Blair Hall

MAINTAINING THE LOOK OF A HISTORICAL LANDMARK IS IMPORTANT – ESPECIALLY FOR A WELL-KNOWN UNIVERSITY LIKE PRINCETON.

Beyond their primary concern of safety, maintaining the exterior aesthetic was a necessity for Princeton University’s facilities personnel.  Blair Hall, the university’s first and largest dormitory, constructed in a “Tudor Gothic” style in 1896 by architects Cope and Stewardson, required more secure student dorm rooms, while preserving the building’s historic integrity.

Kane supplied 56 Level 5 Steel Narrowline security screens with 12-mesh, .028″ diameter stainless steel wire cloth.

Due to our screens’ ability to blend with existing building conditions, Princeton was able to remain on the National Register of Historical Places despite modifying the exterior with sturdy window protection.
