Union Place

A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE WITH KANE INNOVATIONS ON A PREVIOUS D.C. PROJECT LED TO REPEAT BUSINESS ON THE NEW, 14-STORY UNION PLACE LUXURY APARTMENT BUILDING.

Following an impressive experience with Kane Innovations’ project management group on another of AECOM Tishman’s high-rise residential properties in Washington, D.C., Parc Riverside, their team opted to return to Kane for an additional lot of fabricated systems; this time for the brand new, 525-unit Union Place.

Owned by Toll Brothers and designed by architects Davis Carter Scott, Union Place is a modern living community located adjacent to the vibrant NoMa (short for “North of Massachusetts Avenue”) and popular H Street neighborhoods.

Kane Innovations provided all exterior railing and manufactured metal solutions through their Sterling Dula and Kane Fabrications brands, respectively. Included in the scope of work were 12, two-line Chesterfield aluminum and glass balconies and nine, two-line Classic aluminum picket balconies, plus 6′ tall aluminum and glass windscreens and double- and single-leaf gates, which surround the perimeter of the resort-style rooftop pool.

Other products included illuminated, single-line grab rail near the pool steps, Omega-panel privacy dividers on the first and third floors, and Wire Mesh railing located on various street-level ramps. Nearly 1,400 linear feet of Kane Innovations glass and aluminum architectural building products were installed on and around the building.

Union Place became fully-operational in February 2019. Current residents enjoy an array of first-rate amenities such as a movie wall, a courtyard fireplace, pet spa and dog wash stations, a bike room and more.
